Sitting outside the post office where my parcel locker is
– because I’ve just collected one parcel
– and my Australia Post app tells me that a second parcel was delivered to the post office this very morning
– and when I arrived a young woman was hauling a trolley of parcels back inside
– and she explained that while she thought she’d associated each of the parcels with a parcel locker, the system was telling her otherwise
– so she was taking them all back inside to start again
– and I’m hoping my parcel was one of those on that trolley
– so sitting here, as mentioned above, waiting to see if I get a notification that my other parcel is ready to collect.
To quote Jack Handey: I didn’t say it was an interesting story.
Update: There is action at the parcel locker. I can hear voices! But are they voices of victory for the postal worker, or more frustration? I’m giving this 10 more minutes and, yeah, it’s probably 10 more minutes than I should, but you tell me: what the hell else have I got to live for??
Update update: I concede defeat. The post office holds my parcel hostage. Powerless, I concede to its terms.
